Do As Infinity

The music of Do As Infinity (DAI) is a mix of rock and pop. The band was formed by guitarist Nagao Dai. The two other members are guitarist Ryo Owatari and singer Tomiko Van. Dai started his professional career in music when he was hired as a composer by the label AVEX where he wrote songs, among others, for Ayumi Hamasaki, one of Japans most succesful artists. AVEX gave Dai the opportunity to form his own band. Through auditions that were held he met Ryo Owatari and Tomiko Van.
In late September 1999 Do As Infinity released their first single »Tangerine Dream«. In 2001 they released their best album so far, »Deep Forest«, which was a bit more »commercial« than their earlier albums. With their album »Gates of heaven«, released in late November 2003, they - after the disappointing »True Song« album of 2002 - resumed the high standard that they had set with »Deep Forest«.
