Paris Match

Paris Match is a three piece band. The fitting description of their music is Adult Contemporary. It is a mix of Pop, R&B, Jazz and Bossa Nova. Besides their own compositions they released some cover versions of well known Pop and R&B songs like »Close to you« by the Carpenters (on the album »Volume One«), »Feel like makin' love« by Roberta Flack (album »Pm2«) or Chris Rea's Christmas classic »Driving home for christmas« (album »Song for you«).
The band was formed by Tai Furusawa and Yosuke Sugiyama. Both had already experiences in the music business - Furusawa as a DJ and composer and from organizing club events, Sugiyama as a producer, arranger and remixer. They met singer Mari Mizuno when she and Sugiyama worked for a radio station in Nagoya at the same time. The name of the band refers to a track (»The Paris Match«) from the 1984 album »Café Bleu« by the group The Style Council, one of the favourite groups of Paris Match.
